All older children or adults are charged EUR 20.00 per night and person for extra beds.

Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 3.

Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

The Atlas Posthotel is a beautiful, historic building in the centre of Garmisch. It was once the post-office building and has seen many illustrious names pass through its doors.

Food & beverage

At the hotel-own restaurant you will enjoy culinary specialities. The outdoor terrace of the Atlas Posthotel is considered to be one of the most beautiful ones in Bavaria. The attached parlour and bar offer a pleasant atmosphere as well.

Area information

The Atlas Posthotel is a good base from which to explore the Zugspitze area. This is one of the most attractive winter sports regions in Europe, and will host the Skiing World Championship in 2011. Discover a countryside of picturesque lakes, bogs, meadows and the wooded Zugspitze mountainous range. You can go walking, cycling, mountain biking, downhill skiing, tobogganing and cross-country skiing in this beautiful part of Upper Bavaria.

The Atlas Posthotel has been in our minds ever since we visited whilst on honeymoon 21 years ago.

Although centrally located and one of the main hotels in Garmisch, the hotel is looking somewhat jaded. The bar and restaurants were closed during our visit which was not mentioned during our booking on your web site.

Located right in the middle of Garmisch. A 4 minute drive to ski lifts. 20 minutes to Zugspitz. A short walk to all of the nightlife in the area and a convienent taxi stand right outside the hotel. Breakfast is okay but has a small selection. The rooms are typical european sizes and clean.

The internet was not working that weekend.

with so litte parking it would be better to say no parking avaiable - also the spaces could then be kept for those with disabilities or those picking up/dropping off luggage

Very good staff. Hotel is clean; very well presentable and has a good rustic atmosphere. Will be hard to find a hotel with such an excellent service and chareter and rooms with beautiful views facing the zugspitze.

Nice big rooms. The breakfast is good.

No air condition, but fan. Small shower cabin. Only four parking spots available at the hotel.

good location, easy to find, grand hotel that is in landhausstil with an excellent restaurant and breakfast.

The hotel is next to a church with a clocktower which chimes on the hour. Also, the hotel was across from a main square where there were young adults who collected to drink and sing until 3 am. (We were there on 2 German holidays, Mother's day and Pfingsten, so I suppose this doesn't happen during the week).

It was a wonderful old hotel. The room was a suite with a separate sittiing room and a separate dressing room and bathroom. The sitting room had windows surrounding three sides and the view of the snowcapped mountains was lovely. Also had free wireless internet. There was an amazing free breakfast with waiters for your convenience. Just lovely and right in the heart of Garmish.

All was wonderful!

The staff was very gentle, the breakfast was very good, the room was very confortable and the location perfect. They even cleaned the pavements very carefully. We were completely satisfied. We have chosen this hotel, because we have three children and we wanted a 5-bed room.
